A Way Through…

A Way Through…

Read time: 22 minutes All the while knowing no words will ever capture what is prior to words, prior to thinking, prior to form, prior to all manner and matter of things. Paradox abounds and can only be lived.

Buddhism speaks of an auspicious human birth, through which we are able to awaken out of this endlessly spinning wheel of birth, suffering, death and unrelenting karma. Other traditions similarly suggest that our life journeys are, most fundamentally, opportunities to awaken, with lots of hints, signs and pointers along the way, for those who pay attention.

Non-Duality and Awakening, by Other Means… Two

Read time: 26 minutes You do not actually exist in a dualistic world.  therefore “you” cannot “escape the paradoxical position of the ego.”

This seeming “you” who is asking “how” to “escape,” IS THE EGO.  An illusion in other words.   An illusion cannot “escape” the fact that it is an illusion.  Or in other words, illusions cannot, by their very nature (of being illusions), “become” real.

The Light of Consciousness does not cast a shadow.  EVERYTHING that casts a shadow is merely more shadow, illusion, beliefs.

First and most importantly of all, it must be understood that beliefs are not real.  We are free to believe in what seems or even maybe is real, and we are also free to believe in illusions.

Non-Duality and Awakening, by Other Means… One

Read time: 22 minutes A collection of my responses to various folks regarding non-dual/spiritual teachings.

God “gives” nothing, all is given always and already. In each moment everything is, and simply so. The foolishness that asserts “God” rewards for good behavior (and by inference punishes for bad) goes totally against the Prodigal Son, for just one example, not to mention every other teaching of Jesus, without exception. The same foolishness is also contrary to the teachings of most of the world’s established traditions. No mystic, […]

She is the very existence of the letters of the names, the first and the last, the apparent and the hidden. Sooner Or Later We Fall Silent

Read time: 4 minutes The thinking, relative, and extremely abstracted mind simply cannot go there. Nor can it adequately express or perceive it, because this mind is itself an imagined and seemingly separate object, and therefore has no access to what is always and infinitely prior to and greater than itself.

Read time: 3 minutes “God loves us by becoming us…”

As beautiful as these words are in their most obvious meaning, I believe they also include some deeper dimensions of understanding that many people are not yet able (or prepared) to hear…?

I believe they are also saying that God, and therefore the actuality and power of God’s Love, which is not separate from or other than God, is all about becoming conscious of Herself through, and as, humans…

Multidimensional Thinking

Multidimensional Thinking

Read time: 11 minutes

Fifth or multi-dimensional ways of being and apprehension include every earlier or preceding dimension as “aspects,” now changed or transformed, because all so-called previous dimensions are now no longer limited by any (of our) identification with them.

Every dimensional shift or lifting of consciousness into the light, in essence awareness realizing itself ever more fully, in the ways I am using these word-concept-metaphors here, is essentially what might be called our stepless steps upon a non-journey of awakening…

The cognitive short-circuit of ‘artificial consciousness’

The cognitive short-circuit of ‘artificial consciousness’

Read time: 8 minutes The computer engineer’s dream of birthing a conscious child into the world without the messiness and fragility of life is an infantile delusion; a confused, partial, distorted projection of archetypal images and drives. It is the expression of the male’s hidden aspiration for the female’s divine power of creation. It represents a confused attempt to transcend the deep-seated fear of one’s own nature as a living, breathing entity condemned to death from birth. It embodies a misguided and utterly useless search for the eternal, motivated only by one’s amnesia of one’s own true nature. The fable of artificial consciousness is the imaginary bandaid sought to cover the engineer’s wound of ignorance…

The Banquet of Whiteness

The Banquet of Whiteness

Read time: 19 minutes Our present historical moment is one of transition in our mythology, in the basic narratives by which we know self and world. Having corroded the other cultures of the world, it now dissolves itself. The ingredients of the innumerable feasts of world cultures are strewn about the kitchen. To assemble them into something more sumptuous than ever before, we must first give up the idea that our dishes were the best. A new mythology is beckoning. For it to become real, we must develop the courage to release the old one, even though it once seemed like absolute reality itself. Fortunately, courage has an ally – reality has been falling apart for a while now…

The Body

The Body

Read time: 12 minutes “The human body is, in its deepest essence, a dharma body. It is a concrete revelation of the dharma.” We live in a world dominated by the disconnected conceptual mind, which is cut off from the body, heart, spirit, soul, earth and natural world. The conceptual mind is a useful tool, but when it is not in service to higher wisdom, it turns into a juggernaut running amok. This dominance of the disconnected mental sphere throws our inner ecology out of balance, and is the root of all of humanity’s largest problems…

Read time: 31 minutes It is morning, woke into all the same terror, center of it moving around, abdomen, belly, chest, laying still so as to be with it, “trying” to not resist, run, fight, not add energy to it… Mind attention tries to get away into thoughts, falls back into the terror, there is nothing solid left to hang thoughts onto… As if the infrastructure thoughts used to organize themselves around has crumbled into dust, identity still struggling to stay intact, survive… Only bits and pieces left, tumbling up out of nothing, and then fading away…

God does not “see” sin

God does not “see” sin

Read time: 4 minutes True (radical) forgiveness and the mercy it seems to entail, at their deepest and most sublime levels, is not about what others are doing or not doing. Real forgiveness is meant first and foremost for ourselves. We forgive ourselves for seeing others through (and as) our own judgements, our own alienation, and all the many ways we have learned to project our learned and conditioned beliefs in separation onto a seeming world of “others…”

An Open Message Regarding Bernardo Kastrup

Read time: 8 minutes Bernardo Kastrup  doesn’t seem yet to fully realize the degree to which he is still trying to think his way to what is in essence the end of thought, a sort of destination, phenomenon or quality he and his colleagues most often label “consciousness.”  In a sense (because it is not actually possible) they continue their attempts to objectify, or make into a “thing” what precedes all thought, all language, all imaginings, all perceptions, and all concepts…

Silence is a Commons

Silence is a Commons

Read time: 9 minutes Computers are doing to communication what fences did to pastures and cars did to streets…

The machine-like behaviour of people chained to electronics constitutes a degradation of their well-being and of their dignity which, for most people in the long run, becomes intolerable. Observations of the sickening effect of programmed environments show that people in them become indolent, impotent, narcissistic and apolitical. The political process breaks down, because people cease to be able to govern themselves; they demand to be managed…

In the Face of What Is Happening

Yet the very words, symbols, images, felt beliefs and concepts by which most people think and communicate, with themselves and with each other (or not), are now for the most part fenced off, owned, manipulated and controlled by a few at the expense of the many, a many that includes all of life, because it is all of life that speaks (arises) out of that silence…

Seeing

Read time: 5 minutes Seeing (awareness) knows itself, “sees” that it sees, sees its own seeing, without any need of another. This seeing is not of the eyes. In such a movement we may begin to discover what is real that we also are, here and now, source and destination…
